All the boys are home this week. Christmas break! We have already been to Urgent Care ( 2 cases of Strep) They laundry is out of control, toys and present trash are still all over the house.
The dog rolled in something dead, and I have no groceries in the house.
Standing in line at the grocery store with a full cart a little old man came to stand behind me. He wore suspenders and a hat. He waited patiently as I placed all of my items on the belt. I looked in his cart and he had very few items, mostly things that had been marked down. I told the check out lady I would like to pay for his also. As the bagger continued to bag mine she ran his through, I paid for them, smiled at him and walked away. I heard the checker tell him .. no you don't owe me anything she bought your items for you. I followed the bagger to my car and was helping him load the groceries and looked up and the man came across the parking lot looking for me. He pulled cash out and tried to pay me, I declined. I told him Merry Christmas a little late, you owe me nothing. I did it just because you had to wait on me. His eyes welled up with tears and he said bless you dear. May the wind always be at your back and the sun always shine on your face and may your soul get to Heaven 30 minutes before the devil knows your gone. We shook hands and said until next time! It just takes very little to make a differnce in someones life and help you to appreciate your own.
