When I turned 40 in August, I thought this is no big Deal I'll be just fine.... Will I?
In August I had just shipped my oldest son Austin's horse to South Carolina to be sold. The morning of my 40th birthday I got the call that he had a major colic overnight and was found dead in his paddock. Never should have sent him, was my thought. But it was too late.
The year went on and in my horse world I found a horse that looked just like Busy and decided to buy him (maybe to make myself feel better) I bought him , He was perfect! Three days later he got caught in the fence and tore his back leg up terribly. I had to drive him 3 hours to the equine hospital for a week long hospital stay and a healthy vet bill. But things were going to look better now. I mean we are more than halfway through the year. What else could go wrong?
My Dad, the most kind, caring, gentle man I have ever known. The one that would drop everything and come when I called, the guy that always patted me on the back and called me his little girl. He died on May 14, 2011. I feel a void without him here. Turning 40 has had heartache and hardship for me. I pray for better days.

Just Because
All the boys are home this week. Christmas break! We have already been to Urgent Care ( 2 cases of Strep) They laundry is out of control, toys and present trash are still all over the house.
The dog rolled in something dead, and I have no groceries in the house.
Standing in line at the grocery store with a full cart a little old man came to stand behind me. He wore suspenders and a hat. He waited patiently as I placed all of my items on the belt. I looked in his cart and he had very few items, mostly things that had been marked down. I told the check out lady I would like to pay for his also. As the bagger continued to bag mine she ran his through, I paid for them, smiled at him and walked away. I heard the checker tell him .. no you don't owe me anything she bought your items for you. I followed the bagger to my car and was helping him load the groceries and looked up and the man came across the parking lot looking for me. He pulled cash out and tried to pay me, I declined. I told him Merry Christmas a little late, you owe me nothing. I did it just because you had to wait on me. His eyes welled up with tears and he said bless you dear. May the wind always be at your back and the sun always shine on your face and may your soul get to Heaven 30 minutes before the devil knows your gone. We shook hands and said until next time! It just takes very little to make a differnce in someones life and help you to appreciate your own.

Spring Break
Spring Break was this week and between the vomiting and diarrhea we were barely able to do anything. We did go fishing on Wednesday. We stopped and had lunch in Nixa and then went on to the Trout Farm. Everyone caught a bunch , it was hard to get them to stop.
Paxton kept complaining that his stomach hurt (that should have been a clue) we headed home and as we were droppong off our friends he threw-up in the backseat ( in the crack between the seats) It took me about 30 minutes to clean it up, and the car smelled like vomit for at least 2 days!
Payden is now sick and we only have one day left. I am hopeful that we can do something fun tomorrow. If not at least the weather is starting to get nicer and we will be able to do more things after school.

The Laundry Never Ends
Have you ever wondered what happens at night when you go to bed... I'm not really sure but I think the laundry multiplies, at least it does in my house. There is always more laundry than I can keep up with!
I do love the smell of a fresh load of laundry in the dryer ( maybe that's just because I smell that on a regular basis) but I can't stand folding white clothes. I put that off till the boys are running out off socks and they start trying to dig them out of the dirty clothes. That's another thing that happens at night , I think some of the socks decide to go out for drinks!

Time for Fun?
I was recently asked what have you done lately for fun? Well..... I really can't seem to think of one thing . I guess my fun is probably waking up at 4:30 to go workout, so that I can get back in time to get everyone else's day off to a good start.
The rest of they day is laundry, turning horses out, cleaning the barn (wishing there was more time in the day) going to the store, picking up kids, making dinner, cleaning up dinner...kids to bed.. starts all over again.
I love my life and I am not complaining. You don't miss the things you never get to do....that will all be there when my kids grow up right? Then I will do things just for fun!

Payden has been sick most of this week... not sure what he has or if he just wants to stay home! Paxton had another migraine this week, those are just so nasty. I wish he didn't get them. Trey is really enjoying school this year. We made the right decision to change schools last year. He made the honor roll and has a wonderful teacher.
Jr. High basketball starts tomorrow for Colton, Wow, I am so proud of him. He tried out for the team, even though he hasn't played since 2nd grade. I hope he has a great season!
Austin has become Mr. Social. We are no longer very important. This is just a hub for food, sleep, and most importantly video games.

Fun night was Friday and I think it was a success! The pumpkin turned out great, we did the Tin Man this year. Football is winding down. We only have 1 more Mighty Mite game , and 3 more Jr. high games. Payden was sick all week... now we are just waiting for the others to get it. I have been carrying Lysol in my hand most of the week. Will that help? Stay tuned!
